I was recently given the opportunity to select 5 polishes for review from the Nail Polish Indie Brand. My choices; Fizzy, Buffy, Barbie Girl, Peachy Keen, and Peridot Wings.
Overall I had no real formula problems. Many of these are sheer and may be best layered over another color or even a white base. Now for the swatches.
Fizzy
Fizzy is a blue shimmer polish with hints of purple sheen. It has small blue microglitters, larger donut glitters with all giving a very pretty appearance on the nail. I really do love this color. The only issue I had with this was the larger donut glitters. They are pretty sparse, although with some work I was able to get one on most nails. Some didn’t want to lay flat. But overall this makes for a shimmery beautiful mani. The swatches below are 2 thick coats with Seche Vite topcoat.
Buffy
Buffy is a scattered holo pink. A beautiful pink, not too light and not too dark. I had no problems with this one. Swatches are 3 coats with OTD topcoat.
Barbie Girl
Barbie Girl looks like a bright orange in the bottle; But on the nail is a bright, almost neon, scattered holo pink. It is similar to Buffy just quite a bit brighter. No real problems with this one. Swatches are 3 coats with OTD topcoat.
Peachy Keen
Peachy Keen, despite its name, is a very subtle nude with some light shimmer. I layered it up quite a bit thinking the color would build, but it never really did. The swatches are four coats. As you can see this one would have to be layered, maybe over your favorite nude to get an opaque finish. However if you are looking for a very sheer shimmery nude this might be perfect for you. The swatches below are 4 coats with OTD topcoat.
Peridot Wings
Peridot Wings is a dense green and yellow glitter bomb in a sheer base. For this one I layered it over Zoya Josie. No real formula problems and I was able to get a smooth coat with all that glitter packed in. I love green polish so this one is right up my alley. The swatches below are 1 thick coat over a base color of Zoya Josie.
Overall this is a nice collection, a few little problems here and there but nothing that couldn’t be worked with. For my personal favorites I would have to choose Fizzy and Buffy. My least favorite is Peachy Keen, mostly due to how very sheer it is (and I LOVE peach polish so I had higher hopes for it.) But if you like very sheer subtle shimmery polish it might be perfect for you.
