Potion Polish ~ Dreaming of the Islands: Swatch & Review

Hi ladies! I have a new indie to show you today. I recently received the Dreaming of the Islands collection by Potion Polish. I was immediately drawn to Potion Polish when I first saw this initial release. Rarely do we see such a cohesive collection from a new indie brand.

Dreaming of the Islands is a collection of neons with beautiful scattered and linear holographic shimmer. So let’s take a look, shall we?

Papaya Sunrise
Papaya Sunrise is described as a peachy orange with a linear holo flash. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Beach Bunny Pink
Beach Bunny Pink is described as a bright barbie pink with subtle gold and purple sparkle. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Sunlit Palms
Sunlit Palms is described as a palm tree green with medium holo flash. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Cerulean Skies
Cerulean Skies is described as a neon sky blue with a scattered holo finish. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Rainbow Orchid
Rainbow Orchid is described as a tropical orchid purple dusted with scattered holo. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Electric Bikini
Electric Bikini is described as a vibrant red leaning coral with a soft holo and dusting of gold sparkle. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Sparkle Cay
Sparkle Cay is described as a glistening Aqua with a strong linear holo with tiny rainbow flakes and Aqua sparkles. My swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

The Pros: All of the colors in this collection were well thought out and each is unique with its various micro glitters, flakes, or dusting of colors. Application was a dream with a perfectly smooth formula on each. The brush is phenomenal, absolutely perfect size and a nice thickness without being too thick. The bottle design is nice and easy to use with professional labels.

The Cons: With 3 coats I still have some nail line peeking through on most of these, so they are sheer. It doesn’t bother me at all, I’ve probably said a thousand times that I’m fine with a little visible nail line, but I know some aren’t. They do state that some of these may need 3-4 coats, which is the case if you are looking for full opacity.

Overall I love this collection. They are beautiful, unique, and a dream to apply. The Dreaming of the Islands collection is available now on their website www.potionpolish.com. Each polish retails for $10 or you can buy the whole collection for $60 which essentially is getting one free. But wait there’s more… Courtney of Potion Polish has been so kind to offer my readers 10% off  any $30 order so you can save even more! Just use code POLISHANDPAWS at checkout.

So if I had to just pick two from this collection.. I couldn’t. 🙂 No seriously if I must I would say Papaya Sunrise and Rainbow Orchid; but I would definitely mourn the loss of the others as I really do like them all. Do you have a favorite?
