So the title is a little confusing I imagine, since it’s no longer January. Let’s just say I’m really really late putting this blog post together. At the beginning of the year I started participating in monthly nail art challenges again, specifically #ClaireStelle8 challenges. I love doing these challenges, but I’m terrible about putting posts together for them. I post on Instagram, and forget all about the rest. So time to catch up a bit!
January 3 – Prompt “Snow and Ice”
For this mani I started with 2 coats of Zoya Bailey. I then sponged Zoya Dream on the tips. Then using MdU white, MdU blue, M Polishes Joy, Frost, and Iron I stamped various snowflakes using my clear jelly stamper I finished it all of with a light coat of China Glaze Snow Globe.
January 6 – Prompt “Winter Berries”
The base for this mani is a scattered neutral grey holo from the Impala Celebrate collection. Stamped using stamping plate BP-L015 with Handy Polish Brown. Using MdU Red I dotted on the berries. Finished it off with some ‘snow’ sponged at the tips using Sally Hansen Eyelet and a single coat for the falling snow.
January 10 – Prompt “Fave Animal”
I apparently didn’t keep any notes on this mani, so I have no idea what colors I used. But the bones and paw prints were done with dotting tools. Pure Ice matte top coat to finish it off.
January 13 – Prompt “Gold”
I love Peach and Gold together so I knew immediately what I wanted to do for this mani. The peach I used was an untried, Colors by Llarowe Schwartzman & Heineken. The gold glitter is called Gold Bracelets from Turtle Tootsie Polishes. Vinyls are from Polished Vino.
January 17 – Prompt “Forest Creatures”
For this mani I started with a gradient using Cecil the Lion and Bengal Tiger both from Smitten Polish via @hellaholocustoms, then stamped tiger stripes from BM-613 plate with MdU black.
January 20 – Prompt “Clocks”
For this mani I started with a base of Zoya Blair, then using MdU gold I stamped various clock and gear images. I got the embellishments from an ebay purchase of old watch components, specifically for this purpose of course. 🙂
January 23 – Prompt “Spirals”
Deborah Lippmann Million Dollar Mermaid stamped with Morgan Taylor Sweet Escape.
January 26 – Prompt “Stripes”
For this mani I started with a base of OPI Got a Date To Knight, double stamped using MdU Barbie and M Polishes Berry Best Friends using FUN Plate #7.
January 31 – Prompt “Daisies”
For this mani I started with a base color of Love Angeline Morning After, stamped with MdU white using stamping plate MoYou London Pro XL-23. I used Sinful Colors Bananappeal for the yellow.
Whew, okay that’s all of January. What did you think of these manis? Do you have a favorite? I’ll be back with February later!
Until next time, stay polished!
