I have some water decals from Born Pretty store to show you today. Not the typical full nail decals we see so much of, these are accent flower decals. And can I just say I *love* how this mani came out?! Let’s take a look!
At first I thought I would put these on a straight white base then do some leadlighting with the flowers, but I really wanted something a little different that I hadn’t done before. Enter Sharpies!
For this look I started with a straight white base. After the base was dry (except I didn’t wait quite long enough myself!) I just drew some squiggly lines with my sharpie markers. I then dipped a small brush into isopropyl alcohal and blended the sharpie colors together. This technique is very versatile as depending upon the amount of alcohol on your brush and how much you blend you can get very different results.
After my base colors were blended and dry I cut out each flower individually and soaked in water for about 15 – 30 seconds. When the decal could easily slide off the paper I placed it on my nail according. Repeated with 1-3 flowers on each nail. When the decals were dry I finished off with a glossy top coat and Voila!
This mani was very easy to do and I love the outcome. These water decals come in a large sheet though so you have lots of options for different ideas to use then.
These decals are available here, as well as a lot of other nail art items. Remember to use my code TFFQ10 for 10% off any regular priced items.
How do you like this look? What type of design would you use these for?
Until next time, stay polished!
