Square Hue Celebrate Freedom America ~ Adventure Collection July Box

Happy 4th everyone! I was surprised to receive the Square Hue box so early this month, but I quickly realized it was so everyone could have theirs by the 4th. How awesome is that? SquareHue just rocks. So let’s get onto this months box!

The 3 shades this month:

  • Fireworks
  • Stars
  • Independence

Fireworks is a red jelly base full of a multitude of small round glitters.

And of course the nail art I did using this months colors.

For this look I started with 3 thin coats of SquareHue Stars on my index and ring finger, and 2 coats of SquareHue Independence on my middle and little finger. For the stars I used images from UberChic 4-01 and 4-03, and used SquareHue iPolish for the stamping.

For the stripes I used some wavy line nail vinyls from Polished Vino Vinyls. These can be applied to fully dry polish, but in the interest of time I decided to try doing some decals with them instead. I placed the vinyl stencils on my Simply Neat Miracle Mat by Bliss Kiss. I then painted over them with SquareHue Fireworks to create the red lines. I gently lifted the stencil, pulling up from the corner with a pair of tweezers. That left just the red wavy lines on my miracle mat. I then brushed on a coat of HK Girl Glisten and Glow to complete the decal. Once that was dry I was able to peel the decal off the mat and place it on my nail; I finished off with one more coat of HK Girl Glisten and Glow to seal the design.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of this step as it was my first time trying this technique and quite honestly I didn’t know how well it would work out. But I was very pleased with how well it worked.

I really love the colors from this months box, they are patriotic but with SquareHues own take to add a fun little twist.

And for some more information about Square Hue. Square Hue offers 2 different subscription boxes, a 2 polish box and a 3 polish box starting from $14.99 a month. A portion of proceeds from each box subscription goes towards a specified cause, currently human trafficking. I am of a strong belief that the only thing better than pretty polish is pretty polish with a cause. So go check out SquareHue at the links below.
