Yesterday I got to show you the August COTM from the new indie brand Blush Lacquer. Today I get to show you the upcoming collection, the Power and Beauty Collection. This is Blush Lacquer’s second collection, it consists of 6 shades suitable for both fall and winter, and is inspired by Greek Goddesses. I have a lot of pictures, so let’s jump right in.
Blush Lacquer Of Seas and Shells
Inspired by Greek Goddess Aphrodite
Of Seas and Shells is described as a pale olive green with pink flakies and tiny silver holo glitters. On my nails it looks more of a flakie filled taupe, but on a swatch ring the olive really came out. This would probably vary a lot based on skintone. 2 coats with glossy top coat.
Blush Lacquer Life in the Underworld
Inspired by Greek Goddess Persephone
Life in the Underworld is described as a black base with a strong blue shimmer and little red holo glitters. It has a bit of a metallic finish to it. The brush strokes on this one show up a little, but not bad at all, and the red glitters help to distract that too. My swatches show two coats with glossy top coat.
Blush Lacquer Eye of the Soul
Inspired by Greek Goddess Psyche
Eye of the Soul is described as a medium lavender with a minty green shimmer. The shimmer showed up okay on my swatches, but it’s even stronger in real life. If you love all the shimmers right now this is a must have! My swatches show 3 thin coats with glossy top coat.
Blush Lacquer Queen of Gods
Inspired by Greek Goddess Hera
Queen of Gods is described as a glitter bomb filled with different sizes of blue, purple, green, brown, gold, gold holo and silver holo glitters. The glitter is packed in there and can be full coverage in 2-3 coats, I chose to layer it over Eye of the Soul. You can see how much glitter I got in a single coat, and absolutely no fishing for glitters in this one! Sealed with glossy top coat.
Blush Lacquer Fight Like a Goddess
Inspired by Greek Goddess Athena
Fight like a Goddess is described as a caramel brown base with a shifting pink to gold shimmer and copper and black holo glitters. Victoria wanted something that resembled a tiger for this polish, and it’s really close! This very unique shade gives off quite the sparkle too. My swatches show 2 coats with glossy top coat.
Blush Lacquer Moonlight Huntress
Inspired by Greek Goddess Artemis
Moonlight Huntress is described as a very pale blue almost white with red, green and purple flakies and very tiny silver holo glitters. This one is a bit sheer and I still have VNL at 3 coats. I doubt it would be noticeable on shorter nails, and I can imagine lots of layering options too! 3 coats with glossy top coat.
My Thoughts: I really like that this collection has a variety of polishes, most of which are quite unique. Victoria has really put a lot of thought into this collection, and it really shows through with the end results. I had no formula issues, they all applied easily and smoothly. Dry time was on par with what I would expect. I will also mention I found Victoria to be very organized and easy to work with.
The Power and Beauty collection releases Friday, August 5th in the Blush Lacquer Etsy shop (link below.) They will retail individually for $9.00 each or the full collection will be $54.00.
