The Morgan Taylor “Selfie” Summer 2017 Collection I received included 6 gorgeous summer shades, the Morgan Taylor React Top Coat and Base Coat, and the selfie stick. So without further ado let’s check out these pretty girls!
I received the Summer Selfie collection compliments of Morgan Taylor as part of the #PreenMeVIP program.
Morgan Taylor Woke Up This Way
Woke Up This Way is described as an Electric Fuchsia Neon Lacquer. I would describe it as a very bright fuchsia squishy crelly-like polish, but not quite neon. This starts out a bit more sheer than the rest, with a jelly feel to it, but it reaches opacity in just 2-3 coats. Super squishy shiny finish! For my swatches I used Morgan Taylor React Base Coat, 2 coats of color, then sealed with Morgan Taylor React Top Coat.
Morgan Taylor Pretty as a Pink-ture
Pretty as a Pink-ture is described as a Pink Neon Lacquer. Now this one actually is neon. It dries to a satin matte type finish, and I adjusted my camera setting to capture it correctly (which any swatcher knows that is the test of a neon!) Nice easy formula. For my swatches I used Morgan Taylor React Base Coat, 2 coats of color, then sealed with Morgan Taylor React Top Coat.
Morgan Taylor Me, Myself-ie, and I
Me, Myself-ie, and I is described as a Coral Neon Shimmer Lacquer. Formula was a little thick, but leveled out nicely on the second coat. For my swatches I used Morgan Taylor React Base Coat, 2 coats of color, then sealed with Morgan Taylor React Top Coat.
Morgan Taylor All About the Pout
All About the Pout is described as a pastel coral neon creme. I know what you’re thinking.. colors like this can be notoriously bad formula wise. This really wasn’t bad at all though. Opaque in 2 coats. Little streaky, but not awful by any means. Those light ridges on my middle nail.. not the polish. My sub-par repair job after a horrendous break. 😐 For my swatches I used Morgan Taylor React Base Coat, 2 coats of color, then sealed with Morgan Taylor React Top Coat.
Morgan Taylor Best Face Forward
Best Face Forward is described as a Purple Neon Lacquer. I’m not too sure about these descriptions. This one pulled more blue on me, although I have seen it lean more purple. But they made no mention of the soft blue microflakies, which is undoubtedly the best part of this polish! Very nice easy to use formula. For my swatches I used Morgan Taylor React Base Coat, 2 coats of color, then sealed with Morgan Taylor React Top Coat.
Morgan Taylor No Filter Needed
No Filter Needed is described as a Blue Neon Lacquer. I would describe this as a bright medium sky blue. Beautiful shade, but not true neon. Nice easy formula. For my swatches I used Morgan Taylor React Base Coat, 2 coats of color, then sealed with Morgan Taylor React Top Coat.
Really a great bright summer collection full of bright cremes, shimmers, and neons. These colors are really cohesive which creates so many opportunities for some great nail art. However in an effort to get this post out faster I will be doing my nail art and selfie’s in another post, coming up soon!
