SquareHue Dance Collection Flamenco ~ August 2017 Box

Woot! I’ve got nail art to show you all today. I haven’t done any in months thanks to the Great Swatching Hand Breaks of 2017. I even think it’s worth the wait. First let’s take a look at this months Square Hue box, the Dance Collection Flamenco. This months colors are gorgeous and so perfect together too!

Square Hue Toque
Square Hue Toque
Toque is described as a neutral peach high gloss creme. This isn’t a bright peach, it’s just a little subdued. It’s actually quite unique. Unfortunately the formula is sheer and streaky. It took 4 coats to get clean opaque coverage. It does dry quickly though, so you’ll have to decide if it’s worth it to you.

Square Hue Jaleo
SquareHue Jaleo
Jaleo is described as a deep red burgundy high gloss creme. This is definitely high gloss! I even had to filter my lights more than usual to limit the light glare. Nice easy formula with no issues. I used 3 coats for my swatches. Two was almost enough but I had a couple thin spots still.

Square Hue Palmas

Palmas is described as an olive green matte pearlescent. OMG give me all the ugly greens! This one is a real stunner. A lovely matte with a super easy to use formula. Opaque in just 1 coat, yes ONE! And check it out with top coat too, it just glows!

Abstract Dry Marble Nail Art
Dry Marble Decal Nail Art

For this month I decided to do some abstract dry marble decals, which are soooo easy! Originally I intended this to be the base for some stamping but I just couldn’t bring myself to cover it up.

For my abstract dry marble decals I started by putting a few drops of each shade on my Miracle Mat (or a plastic bag will work). Then I took a plastic bag and gently pressed it over the polish to “squish” the colors together. Then I very gently nudged the top bag to the side just enough to get that sweeping appearance in the polish. I pulled the top bag off and coated each section with a layer of top coat. Once dry I affixed the decals to my nails using a sticky base coat. I then added 1 more coat of top coat to give it extra shine.

I found a good You Tube tutorial online that is similar to what I did and am linking it below.

Square Hue is 7-free, cruelty free, and vegan. They offers 2 different subscription boxes, a 2 polish box and a 3 polish box starting from $16.00 a month. A portion of proceeds from each box subscription goes towards a specified cause which is human trafficking. Polish with a cause is always a win-win in my book.
