As some of you may know we have been looking to adopt another dog for the last couple months. We just weren’t finding what we were looking for and I became frustrated with the process a few times. After many weeks scouring PetFinder and Adopt-a-Pet, and even just missing out on a couple potential dogs, I felt like giving up. But I just couldn’t…
For my husband and I we don’t believe in purchasing pets. We have always been big animal advocates and part of that is adopting all of our pets. I really wanted another American Eskimo but you don’t find them very often in rescue, and certainly not in my little town. We were also looking for a senior special needs dog, which are always the last to be adopted, and most are killed in shelters before even seeing the adoption floor. But I made a promise to our senior Eskie, who we lost in March, and I intended to keep it. So I decided to expand my search to anywhere in the general east coast area, rather than within a few hours from us. And that’s when I found Halo!
We came across a 15 year old blind American Eskimo being fostered in Pennsylvania, a 10 hour drive away. I filled out the application and talked with his foster. By the next weekend we were taking a day trip north!
So what does any self respecting polish lover do to celebrate a new (old) dog? Nail art of course!
For this mani I used the following:
- Tonic Polish Taking on Toronto
- CbL Marilyn the Legend
- Painted Polish Midnight Mischief
- Painted Polish Stamped in Coral
- MdU White
- KBShimmer Eyes White Open
- Uber Chic Furry Friends plate
- Harunouta L-016
- Clear Jelly Stamper
- Fine Nail Art Brush
- Glossy Top Coat
Now doesn’t that cute little guy look like our Halo? I really do love how this mani turned out! I’d love to know what you think. Leave me a comment below!
Oh, and BTW it turns out Halo is not really 15yrs old. With a solid white dog that is blind and has very few teeth left it can be hard to tell for sure. But according to his great blood work he will likely be with us for quite a few years! We couldn’t be happier. 💗🐾
Until next time, stay polished!
