Polish Pickup ~ Starlight Polish Queen of Blades

Any gamers here? I’m not a gamer, never have been aside from a few random facebook games here and there. Actually I take that back, there was a 2-3 month period of time in the beginning of our marriage when my husband and I were obsessed with Diablo II. We played for what felt like 12-16 hours every weekend. Obsessed I tell ya. But once we both beat the game we were done, we never had any interest in playing Diabo III or any expansions. That’s pretty much the extent of what I know about video games. As always though I have done a bit of googling about this inspiration, Starcraft’s Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades.

Sarah Kerrigan first appears in StarCraft as a twenty-six-year-old Terran Ghost, a psychic trained both physically and mentally as an expert espionage agent and assassin. She is captured by the insectoid Zerg and infested, turning her into a human/Zerg hybrid completely under the control of the Zerg Overmind. She becomes one of the Zerg’s most powerful agents, but during the Brood Wars, she replaces the Overmind following its destruction at the end of the great war, and gains control of the Zerg to seek dominance over the galaxy. In 2010 GameSpot declared her to be the greatest gaming villain, and Complex ranked her as the most evil woman in gaming in 2012.

Queen of Blades is described as a fuchsia jelly base with green shimmer and micro flakes, aurora pigment and aurora flakes in a bright green that shifts into purple, and a scattering of aurora flakes that shift from orange to green.

The bright green flakies in here really glow against the fuchsia base. Absolutely gorgeous! Queen of Blades applies easily and effortlessly, with a smooth jelly formula that dries very quickly making 3 coats a breeze. Sealed with glossy top coat.

I am a firm believer that any good flakie polish deserves an equally good matte top coat. Flakies love the matte top coats!

I did some nail art because I really wanted to see it with green stamping. I’m not even sure what I was going for, and I’m not definitely not sure what I ended up. I think I like it though, it’s pretty but edgy and somehow seemed appropriate.
